PROCESS SERVICE

90% of our services result in in-hand service because we take proactive steps in determining the best time to serve and find out first whether the address provided is good or not.
We tender status reports by e-mail, fax or telephone. We provide the client with a full Investigative Report documenting all aspects of the service.

HDI Process Serving includes the following services:

Due Diligence: All of our services are effectuated with due diligence and our affidavit of service shall contain sufficient allegations of sworn fact showing such due diligence.

Substituted service: If in-hand service cannot be made, service upon a person of suitable age and in compliance with state law is preferred, with a copy mailed to the defendant. In the event substituted service is successful, the affidavit will contain the first and last name of the individual who received the summons. In addition the relationship to the defendant will be specified, i.e., husband, wife, co-tenant, etc.

Affixing to Door: If in-hand service or service upon a suitable person at the residential address given to the process server by client cannot be effectuated, service shall be attempted at defendant's place of business, if provided by the client or with due diligence can be ascertained by HDI. If service cannot be effected at either place then and only in that event, a copy of the summons will be served in compliance with state law by being affixed to the place of actual residence and a copy mailed to the party. The process server's affidavit of serve will contain the due diligence for affixing the summons to the door.

Additional Fees:

Rush Service: A rush request is defined as one where the client requires that the service be completed within 24 - 72 hours of receipt. (Fee of $125.00 - $150.00)

Skip Tracing: Skip tracing is limited to providing a new address in the event the address provided by the client is incorrect or no longer valid. (Fee of $85.00)

Traverse Proceedings: In the event a Traverse proceeding is commenced and it becomes necessary for one of our process servers to appear in court on client's behalf to testify as to the service of process - (Fee of $125 per hour plus mileage to & from court)

Our Fees: Service within a 30 mile radius of an HDI office is $95.00 + mileage@ the standard IRS rate. Service beyond the 30 mile radius is $100 to $125.00 + mileage@ the standard IRS rate.
